Sega 32x Bios Files

Posted on -

I've tried putting the BIOS files directly in the Sega CD ROMs. Neo Geo, CPS 1 & 2, Game Gear, Master System, Megadrive, 32x, SG. RetroArch Mega/Sega CD.

Document your code

  • The BIOS's come in handy when you need to use one with an emulator, so you can look to this section for all your BIOS needs!! (Note: They also come in VERY handy for development purposes!) Unfortunately all links to bios files have been removed.
  • ROM downloads for free, all the classics! ROM Information Name: [BIOS] 32X M68000 (USA) Download: [BIOS] 32X M68000 (USA).zip System: Sega 32X ROMs.

Every project on GitHub comes with a version-controlled wiki to give your documentation the high level of care it deserves. It’s easy to create well-maintained, Markdown or rich text documentation alongside your code.

The Sega 32X was released as an add-on for the Sega Genesis in 1994. There was a whopping total of 40 games for this console- it was considered a commercial failure.

Modbox 4.0. Jun 14, 2017 - This blog post covers the installation of the Modbo 4.0 modchip into my SCPH-70012 PS2 slim console. I initially installed a Modbo 4.0 chip, but ended up swapping it out for a Modbo 5.0 chip. Above is an an image of the installation diagram for the Modbo 3.0 diagram for NTSC V12. PS2 Modbo 4.0. The Modbo v4.0 is compatible with v5 to v16 and it is also compatible with the newly released SCPH-7700x & 7900x consoles. The Modbo 4.0 is a clone of the original Matrix Infinity range of PS2 mod chips.

Add custom retroarch controls to the retroarch.cfg file in

For more information on custom RetroArch controls see: RetroArch Configuration

Configuring a 6 button controller

First you need to tell retroarch to use 6 buttons, because the default is to use 3.

Launch a Sega 32X game and go to the Retroarch menu (default mapping: select + x). Go to Quick Menu -> Core Options and set the two input devices to 6 button pad. Then exit the Retroarch menu. Once you quit the game, the configuration will be saved within the retroarch-core-options.cfg file under /opt/retropie/configs/all. You do not need to edit this file. These core options will also take affect on any other system which you may use lr-picodrive for (eg. Sega Megadrive, Sega CD).

Gens
System(s):Sega Mega Drive, Mega-CD, 32X
OS: Windows, DOS, Linux
Developer: Stéphane Dallongeville
Programmed in: Assembly, C++
Last release date: 2006-05-20[1] (12 years ago)
Last version: 2.14

Gens is a Sega Mega Drive emulator programmed by Stéphane Dallongeville. It runs on Windows systems (using DirectX) and on Linux (using Simple DirectMedia Layer). The earliest semi-functional release (only capable of debugging 68000 instructions) dates from 1999 and runs on DOS. As of September 2004, the current version (2.12b) advertises full compatibility with '92%' of all Genesis games. As with all emulators, games or ROM images are not included and have to be downloaded or obtained (copied) separately.

Gens also supports running Mega-CD and 32X games if provided with the respective BIOS files, which are not provided with the emulator. In addition, Game Genie codes allowing games to run with cheats are supported.

Another feature is support for the Kaillera Client, which allows games on the Gens emulator (as well as other emulators) to be played over a LAN or the Internet. However, on Gens at least, this is not as smooth a process as one would hope; a common problem is that on either PC, the other player appears to be a few seconds behind (lag); this may result in them appearing to attack non-existent enemies for example.

Gens can also record what buttons are pressed and slow the gameplay down so it is used in making of tool-assisted speedruns.

Gens v2.14 was the first emulator ever that featured save state support for Mega-CD.
